Response to Mark Ryden's "58 The Apology"

i’m sorry for the pain i’ve caused
i’m sorry for breaking our unspoken laws
of mutual respect and admiration
but i couldn’t contain my need for exploration.

the more i took, the more i needed
and the less i listened as you pleaded
but through hindsight i see my error
and hope you will not retaliate with terror.

i can correct the mistakes i’ve made
and my debt to you will be repaid.
