Response to Andrew Wyeth's "Christina's World"

Though your muted colors may provoke others to recoil
and search for other,
more vibrant scenes,
I find my reflection in your palette
and am drawn to it.
Though your stark isolation may leave others feeling empty,
and removed,
I find solace in it
and seek to dwell in your presence.
And by dwelling there, I will find  myself in you.
Mysterious and alone
yearning for something unseen
and though the path to get there is long and solitary
my heart is filled with determination.
What I seek may not seem appealing to all
but it is everything to me.
